this is probably just my opinion, but i was thinking that maybe it was written to show people who are single or never get married, what it means to be in love and to be loved! in the lover's eyes, the other is perfect, and without blemish, and they are both satisfied within each other's presence. they do not love each other because they "settled", but because they value each other more than all the best suitors in the town. they long to be with each other every second of the day! they are completely and entirely committed to each other with their lives, and they have declared that they have given themselves to each other:

"I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine"

I can't help but make a parallel to the love of Christ for his church! Maybe it is easy to love someone who is so perfect in your own eyes, but Christ loved us despite our failings and imperfections! yet, He still loves us with the same love as the lovers, and longs to be in a loving relationship with the unfaithful spouse (the church).

to ever be in such a relationship will blow my mind, to have someone love you so much that he will never forsake you, is almost like a dream! but the awesome thing is that i AM already in such a relationship! and right now, even though im not reunited with Him yet, i can have the blessed hope that i will soon be!
