lately ive been finding it really hard to be optimistic about work.. went to a talk by ssbc on the Christian perspective to work, and left the talk feeling confused (probably because i zoned out a bit at the last part).. but i managed to clarify my doubts with johsi and i came to this conclusion:
work was essentially created to be "good", became cursed and tainted with sin in the fall of man. and so now, work may cause frustration and pain because of this reason!
so how can we ever look at work as "good"?? its the same logic as believing in the gospel! it is not based on how we feel about it (or else it would be largely negative for most of us), but rather recognising that work in this world was never meant to fulfil us/satisfy us, but it is still necessary (as God planned it to be in genesis). we can only look to the future where work will be restored to its original state, and where we will live with our Lord in perfect happiness!
i think i now understand much better what it means to just keep holding on to God's promises, cos i really have no where else to cling! still finding it hard to believe that work was made to be "good", but i know that i just need to convince myself and read the bible more.
just holding on to His hand to pull me through till i meet Him face to face (:
