what a friend we have in Jesus
all our sins and griefs to bear!
what a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
o what peace we often forfeit
o what needless pain we bear
all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
have we trials and temptations?
is there trouble anywhere?
we should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
can we find a friend
so faithful?
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
precious Savior,
still our refuge;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
take it to the Lord in prayer!
in His arms He'll take and shield thee
thou wilt find a solace there
this song is a great reminder to turn to God rather than look to ourselves when facing trials or difficult situations.. He is our heavenly Father, and He knows whats best for us. but i guess im still struggling to believe this fully, i pray that God will show me the meaning of what it means to trust in Him. perhaps He is using these situations to teach us how to depend on Him, because He is sufficient.
i visited an AG today, and one thing that i took out from it is that: God is always good. and everything that He plans, it is GOOD. sometimes it can be hard to see things as good, because it is not what we want, but as Christians, we have peace that God's purposes are good (: so i thank God that it comforted me, rather than made me feel bitter about the things i dont have.
