ive been reading leviticus, and its been difficult! so many times ive almost felt like just skipping it over, but i know that there are things that God wants me to learn in this book, and so i keep going! 

"... But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word." - Isaiah 66:2 

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account." - Hebrews 4:12-13

why do we tremble, you may ask? God's word gets right down through the layers of pretence and sees exactly what we are thinking. His word reveals the unspoken desires and our disobedience. His word has total authority, being able to command creation into existence. His word shows us his wrath when we disobey him, yet this same God is also a God whose love is unconditional and unending...

just reading these few verses alone, i am reminded of how easily the things of this world entice me, but yet when i think about it, these things are just not worth it... when i spend time thinking about the unimportant things, i lose time to think about the things that really matter, like His word! i pray that the Spirit will help me to remember God more, rather than just at the end of each day... i have so much more to learn!
