this past week, ive been realising a very important truth.

"Forget about making disciples if you aren't first making yourself a disciple."

its so true, but often times, we get so caught up with service and "feeding others" that we forget about our own spiritual nourishment.

at the start of this year, i was so enthusiastic about reading the bible in a year. i dont think i expected that excitement to die down so fast ): not sure whats the problem, maybe i was just disengaged from reading (leviticus is difficult!) and i was just reading it for the sake of doing so. Its so much harder to be excited about things you dont really understand the relevance of? but im done with leviticus (: now on to numbers! hope that it will reignite the joy that i had when i first started :P

other than that, sometimes i find it really hard to remember the things i learnt? its strange, cos i thought it would get easier.. it gets harder cos the more you hear it, the more you think you know it, but it takes a conscious effort to stop yourself from tuning out, and to check your own walk. i think the trap that i fall into is hearing and thinking about who best needs to hear it (rather than thinking that i need to hear it).

i guess the more i read the Bible, the more i will realise how much i fall short, and the more i will recognise the need to repent.

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." -- 2 Chronicles 7:14
