I'm quite amazed at the ability we all have to influence people's thoughts and feelings... A simple example would be 2 people posting the same post on facebook. One captions the post and expresses strong distaste for an issue within the post: be it a person/ event/ story. Naturally within 24 hrs, there would be a hate-fest for the person/ event/ story within the comments section of friends who also have suddenly acquired this strong distaste for the person/ event/ story.
The second person who posts the same post on facebook, doesnt caption it with anything. Its just a post that he wanted to share. The comments section would have both negative and positive comments.
The influence that facebook has on people is so soooo scary! what we say or post has the ability to influence people! I'm worried to even think that my thoughts and beliefs have be shaped by what people post on the newsfeed, or even just updates about their life.
I could be tempted to feel worried (because a friend is panicking over some test/submission), envious (because a friend has something that I want and cant have), angry (at people/ events/ stories), annoyed (at people who post immature things/ people i dont understand), stumbled (by people who question the faith and call all Christians blind/fooling/stupid etc).
in times like these, i honestly dont know what to do... maybe i shouldnt be hanging around in facebook as often as i do.. : /
