learning and discovering so much about myself and my sinful habits in this book! Im so glad that I started reading it, because it has brought to light many sins which have been sitting in the corners of my life. I realised that the thing that competes with my worship of God is my worship of MYSELF!
I always think I know best and want to be right all the time. And what really bugs me is when people dont treat me with respect. And it is this sense of pride that puts me on the throne rather than God. ):
It has helped me to figure out the root cause of some of the actions that I make, and I am soo thankful to the Spirit which has convicted me!
Lord, help me to overcome this sin with Your help. I know that it is my heart that needs to be changed, and not the actions that flow from it. All this reminds me of the song that we sang for watchnight, and it is my prayer that God will help me to desire this every day:
Lord for ourselves
In living power remake us-
Self on the cross and
Christ upon the throne!
Past put behind us,
For the future take us:
Lord of our lives,
To live for Christ alone!
