am i building my life on the Rock of Christ? God says that the one who hears God's words and obeys it is like the wise man who builds his house on a rock. this is because his life is built on the foundation of God's truths and whatever that comes his way will not shake him! these words are amazingly reassuring, to know that when we trust in God's word and act on it, we are considered wise!
so contrary to what the world thinks! they think that instead of spending your time in church/ bible study, why not finish your homework first/ do your projects/ enjoy yourself? we are WISE when we yearn to listen and obey God's word (:
has it ever been proven wrong? so many prophesies in the Bible have come true, even though it was thousands of years before!! so we are wise to want to listen to what it says!
but it is not the attendance of these bible studies/ church events that matters! we must make every attempt to internalize and obey what we have heard! i especially need to do that... :P instead of just coming to church as part of my weekly routine, i must make every attempt to make these truths real to me. Only God can help me!
"The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop." - Matthew 7:11-15
