haha valentines day is funny cos facebook is flooded with either lovey dovey pics/ what we had for dinner OR emo i am forever aloneeeeeeee/ spending time with {insert pathetic inanimate object here}
on v day.. haha.
v day is lame to-be-honest. im not being bitter, but i feel like its seriously overrated. all it's doing is making people feel like they need to be attached to someone to feel complete, or maybe even "normal". but i can gladly say that im spending vday like any other normal day!
i remember those times when i would be truly depressed because i didnt have any plans for vday, i would make extra effort to try to have a "singles outing" on vday hahaha. its because i was so insecure with who i was and what people would think of me.
but thank God i am not anymore! i have a firm identity in Christ and i dont need a partner to validate my worth! i am bought with a price! wayyy bigger than any diamond ring or (seriously over-charged) roses. with the blood of my King!
i thank God that i need not be anxious. i think in the coming years (as i reach the big-three-zero) it may become more real to me, but i know that everything is in God's hands. i dont need to be waiting by the door/ phone waiting for my prince charming because i have other goals in life! i want to live my life in a way that is pleasing to the True Love that accepts me no matter what (:
i dont need marriage to be happy, because i can experience the FULLNESS of joy in Jesus! we should never try to look to our worldly desires/ people to satisfy us, because they never will!
