Today's bible passage was a reminder that God does not work in ways that we expect. In the past, he had prophets to explain what were his specific plans for his people. But now, his word only explains his general plans for his people. So I cannot assume that I understand God's plans and timing! Especially when God does something different, like in Job (He was proving Job's faithfulness), and Jeremiah (Using Israel's enemies to punish them for their perpetual sins).
I was also reminded that God looks out for those who love Him, even if he was just one individual. Jeremiah had been faithfully telling his prophecies to the Israelites, but they refused to listen. So God let Babylon take over them. But God did not forget Jeremiah, but he made it such that Jeremiah was able to be safe and to have proper food and shelter and protection. Our God is a God of the smallest details, as He is the God over the whole of history! (: Its a reminder for me that even though God may not be doing things according to my plans, He is working out His own better plan and has not forgotten me. How could he? its not as if He has too many people to care for, but He holds the whole world in His hands (:
I'm leading YD this week for the first time, and to be honest, I'm really quite afraid. To be teaching alongside 2 really good teachers, I feel really inadequate. But I am learning.. Praying that I will be able to prepare well and help the girls to understand. Really thankful for the nice sharing we had last week, and a better understanding of the spiritual standing of the girls... (:
