I just watched a movie "Nebraska", and it has gotten me into the contemplative mode again. It has made me think about the frailty of life, meaningless pursuits for those who have no hope after death, the drive to leave behind a legacy (however small a mark it may be), the sadness of sickness and aging, and the absolute lengths that one would go through to protect another's health and dignity when one loves another.
So many things about the movie just causes me to choke up inside. I don't really know why... maybe I see a bit of it in my late gong gong. Its just so sad that everyone has to grow old. Everyone who was once full of energy, slowly becomes a lesser version of themselves, no longer as mobile or alert as they used to be.
I feel like my stomach is turning, and I just have all this energy being built up inside me. I really don't know how to explain this feeling.
These were just my thoughts tonight..
